Dimethyl carbonate, a colorless and transparent liquid at room temperature, is insoluble in water and can be mixed with almost all organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, and ketones. Product Uses

1. As an environmentally friendly chemical product, it is widely used in the preparation of polycarbonate, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other chemical synthesis fields, and can be used as a substitute for some toxic solvents in the paint, coating and adhesive industries. In 1992, it was listed as a non-toxic product by Europe, and in 2009, the US EPA classified dimethyl carbonate as a non VOC product.

2. Dimethyl carbonate is a good methylating agent, carbonylating agent, hydroxymethylation agent, and methoxylation agent, with very active chemical properties.

3. Dimethyl carbonate has a research octane rating of up to 110 and is an excellent gasoline blending component used to improve the anti knock index.

4. High purity dimethyl carbonate can be used to produce lithium-ion battery electrolytes.
