Isobutane is a kind of organic matter, which is a colorless combustible gas under normal temperature and pressure. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol, ether and others. It forms explosive mixture with air. Its explosion limit is 1.9%～8.4% (V/V).

Product Uses

(1) Used to produce isobutylene and propylene by pyrolysis. Used to produce alkylated gasoline by alkylation with n-butene and propylene.

(2) High purity isobutane is mainly used as standard gas and to prepare special standard mixture gas.

(3) Used to produce isooctane by alkylation with isobutene and as octane number improver of gasoline.

(4) Used to produce methacrylic acid, acetone and methanol.

(5) Used as refrigerant.
